Vincent Price Presents: 1/6 Figure: Super Limited First Edition by Executive Replicas

Image
When the Vincent Price Presents series from Blue Water began in 2009, a figure was announced to coincide with the comic book's debut. For reasons known only to Executive Replicas, the first edition of the figure barely saw a release. It's s o limited, in fact, that most collectors don't even know a first version even exists. Yet exist it does. Here he is.  His original retail was supposed to be a scant $69.99, and he was going to be available through Amok Time Toys. Intended for release in the same collector's packaging as Blacula, Hideous Sun Demon and other collector figures being sold though the retailer, he was to have a stand, and a replica of the debut issue of the Blue Water comic printed to scale for him to hold as an accessory. It didn't work that way though. The "final" first release appeared as follows: A wood box with burned graphics replaced the AT style box originally solicited, and no comic book replica was included. Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula 2 Foot Model Kit, 1999

Image
This Bela Lugosi Count Dracula is a companion piece to the, equally large and impressive, Frankenstein Monster kit. Produced in vinyl, sculpted by Tony McVey. Released in 1999 via his company Art Attack. The two pieces together are quite impressive. Until Sideshow produced the premium format figures of Universal Monsters, these held the crown and remained unchallenged for representation in 1/4 scale. They still hold their own even today. Beautiful likenesses of each actor and the character they gave presence to. Count Dracula sports a paint job by Dan Fuller.

Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster, 2 Foot Tall Model kit, 1998

Image
This Frankenstein's Monster model is a companion piece to the, equally large and impressive, Dracula kit. Produced in vinyl, sculpted by Tony McVey. Released in 1998 via his company Art Attack. The two pieces together are quite impressive. Until Sideshow produced the premium format figures of Universal Monsters, these held the crown and remained unchallenged for representation in 1/4 scale. They still hold their own even today. Beautiful likenesses of each actor who played the role, as well as the character they gave presence to. This Frankenstein's Monster Kit was painted and assembled by me.

Grave Dancers Resin Model Kit

Image
This resin model kit is inspired by the film "The Grave Dancers". It was produced by the late John Tucky's Company, X-O Facto, in the early 2000's. The sculptor is "Kreature Kid"...aka  Adam Doughtery. The subject is The Ghost of Emma, the axe murdering music teacher from the film. Awakened from her slumbers by someone defiling her grave. Painted by me.

The Werewolf (Steven Ritch, 1956 Columbia) Resin Model Kit

Image
This resin model kit was released by 6 Strings Production in the early 2000's (2006-07 if memory serves). It is from the film "The Werewolf" starring Steven Ritch as the title character. The movie was produced in 1956 by Columbia Pictures. It features a werewolf who transforms when in danger or when angered/stressed. Very much like The Hulk. Sculpted by Randy Lambert, and painted by me.

Without Warning (1980) Bust and Figure

Image
Imagine a film featuring Jack Palance, Martin Landau,, Cameron Mitchell, and Kevin Peter Hall together in it. Now imagine 90% of the people on earth never having heard of it. That's what happened with a little film called "Without Warning".  Released in 1980; Without Warning, interestingly enough, is the inspiration for a film that 90% of the people on earth have heard of. One that was produced in 1987, and made mega bucks. The movie is Predator. Kevin Peter Hall even played the Alien Hunter in both vehicles. Predator became a huge hit, WW became a cult classic. There is very little in the way of collectibles for it, however. Pictured below are a bust by the folks at Alternative Images, released in the late 1990's. Not sure who gets credit for the paint work on the bust, as I purchased it completed.  Also featured is an extremely limited edition action figure, that I did the paint chores for, by Distinctive Dummies in 2021. It was one that, like Wasp Woman, I lobbie

Super Rare Vinyl Model kit of The Wolfman

Image
The Wolfman, slightly under 1/6 scale. Produced in 1993 by Monster Shop, Japan. Created in vinyl. Painted by me. Remarkably rare in its originally issued form, pictured here. Re-cast in resin by Python Kits.  I only know of two other collectors who have one. So it's hard to find in the wild. At least in the United States.

Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, and Peter Cushing Cold Cast-Bronze Mini Busts

Image
Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, and Peter Cushing Cold Cast bronze mini busts. 1/6 scale approx. Sculpted by Kate Woodlock, and released (very briefly) through Role Models, UK. Unlike when Role Models released their pewter figures, no boxes, or certificates of any sort were issued with these.  It is estimated around 25 of each were produced in the cold cast bronze format. Making these rare, and a real collector's treasure. Produced before 2000. 1997-98  if memory serves.  Price is depicted as Prospero from Masque of the Red Death, Peter Cushing is in the role of Van Helsing from Horror of Dracula and Christopher Lee is (naturally) Count Dracula from the same film. I live in the US. When I contacted her about acquiring these, she actually remembered me from my purchase of the pewter figures, and started the call with "It's my little friend from America, how are you, luv?" How could you not want to do business with someone so nice? I don't know if she still doers

Boris Karloff Frankenstein Vinyl Model Kit with Resin Base

Image
Here we have a Boris Karloff Frankenstein vinyl model. It was  released by Horizon Models in 1992., in 1/6 scale. Sculpted by Steven Wang. This edition is mounted to a resin base. It was painted by Mark Brokaw (of  Earthbound Models fame). The added nameplate is painted by me. I love this kit, and Mr. Brokaw's unique take on the colors.

Peter Cushing as Professor Van Helsing, Distinctive Dummies 1/6 Exclusive

Image
This Distinctive Dummies Van Helsing was bashed by me, and features a head painted by Martin Cage. It also features a box by The Toy Room. It's a 1/1 as this Van Helsing headsculpt, by the talented Steve Thompson, was used for DD's "Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires" 1/6 release.  I wanted this version to be representative of his appearance in the film "Dracula A.D. 1972".  His bag features a variety of weapons used in the film. Including the shovel and cross stakes he destroys Dracula with at the end of the feature. Present also are the Holy Water vial and Bible, with crucifix wrapped around it, that he uses in the film also. As a freelance painter for DD, Martin gave his official seal of approval on the project. My own personal, exclusive 1 of 1.  Check out his groovy neck scarf/ascot.

Dracula Soil Pendant, Warren Publishing 1979-80

Image
This pendant supposedly contains soil from Romania from Dracula's Castle. Available in 1979-80 through Warren Publishing. Ads were found in Famous Monsters of Filmland, Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella. neat little novelty, but who can really tell where this dirt is from? Somebody got paid, and it's a neat, eclectic little item regardless. Right up there with a Pet Rock.

Psycho Twin Pack by Distinctive Dummies

Image
Mego Scale figures released by the wonderful Distinctive Dummies. Psycho Twin pack featuring Norman Bates and Mother. My Mother figure features different clothing from the issued release. The custom dress, shawland stockings were tailored by AJ Clothiers. These figures were sculpted by Gab Facchinei, and painted by Martin Cage.  I acted as a creative consultant, courtesy of Martin Cage. Martin connected Gabe and I because the film is one of my favorites, and my lobbying him for them to be made. This is one of my favorite Distinctive Dummies releases.

Bela Lugosi as Dracula in graphite by Jace Witman

Image
Wonderful piece of  original artwork from Jace Witman, on toned paper, in graphite. Jace has an online presence as Music and Monsters. I recommend his work.

Wasp Woman Prototype paint variant and numbered release by Distinctive Dummies

Image
Having done a lot of freelance painting (to make my hobby be self sustaining) for Distinctive Dummies, I lobbied for this character to be made for months. The film is a favorite "B" monster movie of mine.  The owner eventually relented and took me up on my suggestion....but only if I would do the paint chores for the figure run. I agreed of course. I struggled with what color to choose for her, but ultimately settled on the metallic bluish purple color, inspired by Carol Hicks's mask of the character.  The prototype, however,  I did in gold, black and yellow. She has different clothing , nylons, necklace and shoes from the numbered release. Here are both pictured together. The DD release was limited to 60 numbered editions. The prototype (pictured with some DST lab equipment) is limited to just mine.
