Without Warning (1980) Bust and Figure

 Imagine a film featuring Jack Palance, Martin Landau,, Cameron Mitchell, and Kevin Peter Hall together in it. Now imagine 90% of the people on earth never having heard of it. That's what happened with a little film called "Without Warning".  Released in 1980; Without Warning, interestingly enough, is the inspiration for a film that 90% of the people on earth have heard of. One that was produced in 1987, and made mega bucks. The movie is Predator. Kevin Peter Hall even played the Alien Hunter in both vehicles.


Predator became a huge hit, WW became a cult classic. There is very little in the way of collectibles for it, however. Pictured below are a bust by the folks at Alternative Images, released in the late 1990's. Not sure who gets credit for the paint work on the bust, as I purchased it completed.

 Also featured is an extremely limited edition action figure, that I did the paint chores for, by Distinctive Dummies in 2021. It was one that, like Wasp Woman, I lobbied the owner pretty consistently to produce. Don't you just love the flying monster accessory? I enjoyed painting them.

I love the look of the alien and his organic flying ammunition. The film even features Larry Storch from F Troop. Recently released on a remastered blu ray. If you haven't seen it....check it out!

Opening the doors to the Manor House

Greetings Monster Movie Enthusiasts~~       An appropriately eerie manor house is so hard to find.  Sometimes we just have to fashion our own. So here we are. The purpose of this blog is quaint in its simplicity. I am a "monster kid".  I have been for over half a century. As such, I sat up late night on weekends (before the advent of vhs, dvd, blu ray, etc) watching as many of these old films as my young mind could....devour. Like any good monster kid, I also collect movie monster items. In addition to consuming said items, I also contribute to the hobby, as a free lance painter. Having done work for Distinctive Dummies, Creatures and Shadows Studios, Brentz Dolz and many others. Who knows, you may have some of my work in your own collection.       The monster kid era began in the 1960's and ran well into the late 1970's.
