The Wolfman 2010, Signed 8x10, Benecio DelToro

Image
Signed 8x10 textured finished photo. This film gets a lot of hate, but even with all the re-shoots and meddling, it's obvious DelToro loved this character. Rick Baker's make ups were amazing. Gotta love the fact that his howl was performed by Gene Simmons of KISS. Signed in black sharpie on a semi gloss, textured finish, 8x10.

The Mummy~ 8MM Movie by Castle Films, 1960's.

Image
Long before the advent of VHS, DVD, Blu Ray, or 4K there existed these primitive little beauties. Reel to reel, and playable on a home projector. While the media itself has become something of a novelty, the artwork on some of these boxes is just amazing. Pure 1960's Americana/Monster Kid goodness.  Universal had some of the coolest artwork on their releases through Castle. This one is amazing.

Robert Quarry, Count Yorga Signed 8x10

Image
Before his unfortunate attack, and spending the rest of his days in a care facility for seniors, Mr. Quarry attended monster movies conventions and signed photos. Here we have a signed 8x10 as Count Yorga. Signed in metallic ink paint pin. Great shot, and a cool little 70's gem.

Distinctive Dummies: 1/6 Scale: Colin Clive Dr. Frankenstein Figure

Image
In 2010, a little customizer decided he wanted to see toys made from favorite films. He titled his "company" Distinctive Dummies. The rest is history.  Originally consisting of he, his wife, and other like minded folks who wanted certain characters to have plastic representation in their collections, DD grew to something of a collector phenomenon. Characters we fans thought would never see the light of day materialized. Wasp Woman, Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Louis Jordan as Dracula, and so many more became realities. Others have copied DD, but DD's reputation is astounding. I have done a lot with them in the role of freelance paint work, and as a creative consultant. These folks are top notch. Although they started their offerings in 1/6 scale, they rarely do 1/6 any longer. Their focus is now mainly "mego" scale. Their 1/6 offerings were usually quite impressive. Here we have their 1/6  Colin Clive as Henry Frankenstein, from Universal's "Frankenstein&qu

Lon Chaney Tribute: Resin Model Kit by Mike Hill

Image
Offered by Mike Hill via his Shapeshifters company in the late 1990's, here we have The Lon Chaney Tribute resin kit. Featuring an elaborate base, and Chaney as Lawrence Talbot, as well as The Wolfman. Paintwork by noted Ohio modeler, Wayne Helton. Slightly larger than the original Long Boz Aurora Monsters plastic kits, but fits in quite nicely with them. One of my favorite sculptors on one of my favorite monsters.

Trick or Treat Studios Universal Monsters Busts

Image
Trick or Treat Studios acquired the Universal Monsters license in 2019-2020. In addition to masks and costumes, they released a statue of Frankenstein's monster and some mini busts. The busts are approx. 1/6 scale. At the time of this post, these 6 comprise the entire series. I hope they make more.

Billiken Models: Phantom of the Opera Model

Image
Released by Billiken  in the late 1980's these kits have amazing detail. Created in vinyl. Paintwork by me. Issued without bases of any sort, I mounted The Phantom to a small stone step base. This model has the option of building him with different arms. Lon Chaney in all his glory captured!

Creature Walks Among Us~ 8MM movie by Castle Films, 1960's

While the media itself has become something of a novelty, the artwork on some of these boxes is just amazing. Pure 1960's Americana/Monster Kid goodness.  Universal had some of the coolest artwork on their releases through Castle. Except for the generic box art for the Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). Revenge of the Creature makes up for it, along with Creature Walks Among Us.

Billiken Models: Kharis the Living Mummy

Image
Released by Billiken  in the late 1980's these kits have amazing detail. Created in vinyl. Paintwork by me. Issued without bases of any sort, I mounted the figure to a wood platform and had a nametag made. In the 1960's Kharis got all the love where marketing was concerned. These days he is passed by in favor of the Karloff film. Which is sad because Chaney's Kharis was the Mummy most kids from the 1960's were familiar with. it is Kharis, not Im-Ho-Tep who Hammer chose for their version of The Mummy in 1959, which may have contributed to this usage in marketing of the time as well.

Obtained through mail correspondence with Mr. Price in the last few years he lived. Mr. Price was always keen to sign anything people sent him, and was even known to send free photos he provided, as long as an SASE was sent along. Beautiful color shot.

Bride of Frankenstein Vinyl Model Kit

Image
Released in early 1990's by Horizon Toy and Hobby Co, out of California. 1/6 scale, perhaps slightly smaller. Kits were not issued with bases or nametags.  Painted by me. Base is an oval wood painted with granite texture effects paint. Nametage by Headless Hearseman (Headless Fritz)

Horror of Dracula 1/6 Custom Figure Bashes

Image
OK, here we have a completely customized bash of Dracula and Van Helsing from the Hammer film classic "Horror of Dracula" (1958).  Dracula features Star Ace "Scars of Dracula" hands,  Product Enterprises head and clothing (with head re-painted by Dan Fuller, and clothes professionally altered by a tailor) and is placed on an extra tall Coo Models 1/6 body. The nameplate is by Headless Hearseman. Van Helsing features a Steve Thompson Cushing likeness originally issued with their 1/6 Hound of the Baskervilles figure. It has had the hair tweaked by me, and I also painted it. Van Helsing has a bag of vampire slaying goodies included as part of his accessories. He also utilizes Product Enterprises' Diary of Jonathan Harker and rosary. Van Helsing too is on a Coo Models body, normal frame, as Lee is taller than Cushing in real life. The coat is beautiful and was produced/tailored by A.J. Clothiers. Until Kaustic Plastik releases their versions, this was the only opti
