Vincent Price Signed Theatre of Blood Poster

 From 1987-1992, I wrote to Vincent Price frequently. Back in those days, actors were more down to earth. One of my teachers was actually friends with him.  In hindsight, its probable that I may have gotten on his nerves,lol. I was only a teenager when I started sending him things to sign. However, he always signed everything I mailed to him. Even if the request was mundane. I acquired this poster and asked him to sign under his name "The Merchant of Menace". He did. It's one of my most valued monster collectibles. I hope I didn't annoy him to much, God rest his soul. I actually got to speak to him for about 30 seconds on a phone call once. It was after sending my condolences on the passing of his wife, Coral.  This is probably my favorite film of his. I have other things signed by him I will show eventually.

 In 2010, a little customizer decided he wanted to see toys made from favorite films. He titled his "company" Distinctive Dummies. The rest is history.  Originally consisting of he, his wife, and other like minded folks who wanted certain characters to have plastic representation in their collections, DD grew to something of a collector phenomenon. Characters we fans thought would never see the light of day materialized. Wasp Woman, Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Louis Jordan as Dracula, and so many more became realities. Others have copied DD, but DD's reputation is astounding. I have done a lot with them in the role of freelance paint work, and as a creative consultant. These folks are top notch. Although they started their offerings in 1/6 scale, they rarely do 1/6 any longer. Their focus is now mainly "mego" scale. Their 1/6 offerings were usually quite impressive.
