Hammer Horror Busts by Mike Hill/Shapeshifters UK

 These garage kits were produced in the late 1980- early 1990's period ,by one of my favorite sculptors who used to make the rounds in the  hobby. He has since moved on to far bigger and better things since the world sat up and took notice of his skill set. That sculptor in question being Mr. Mike Hill. These being released under his "company title" of Shapeshifters.

Having met him at a show once; and corresponded through emails several times in the past, he has always proven to be an extremely amiable and approachable person. I am unsure who painted The Curse of the Werewolf or Count Dracula, as I purchased them finished from the same collector. The Mummy was painted by me. I don't believe these are in production any longer, as I acquired mine some years ago.

They are amazing, and really capture the likenesses of the actors in my opinion. There is an Evil of Frankenstein by Mr. Hill's Shapeshifters as well....but it was sculpted by a different artist, and is also very difficult to obtain these days.

 In 2010, a little customizer decided he wanted to see toys made from favorite films. He titled his "company" Distinctive Dummies. The rest is history.  Originally consisting of he, his wife, and other like minded folks who wanted certain characters to have plastic representation in their collections, DD grew to something of a collector phenomenon. Characters we fans thought would never see the light of day materialized. Wasp Woman, Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Louis Jordan as Dracula, and so many more became realities.
